Terry Bay, Founder and President of SENIORx Patient Advocates, Patient Advocate Healthcare Advisor and Licensed Insurance Consultant
Specialties: Health and Disability, Insurance Consulting, New to Medicare, Patient Advocacy, Prescription Drug Coverage, Denied Claim Appeals
Terry Bay founded SENIORx Patient Advocates in July 2006 after she experienced frustration navigating the healthcare system while taking care of her ill and aging parents. Combining her passion for business—she has an MBA in International Business from the University of Wyoming—and knowledge of healthcare acquired through many years working in the global pharmaceutical industry—Bay launched the company with a mission to serve seniors, the disabled, and those trying to help them—access, understand and navigate the healthcare system.
Today Bay works extensively in her community. She is a board member of the Casper Chamber of Commerce, serves on the state Adult Protective Services team, Natrona County Elder Protection team, and is a member of the Casper Senior Network.
Bay is the Past President and a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and a member of the National Association of Healthcare Advocacy Consultants (NAHAC). She attends annual Medicare training with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and participates in monthly teleconference training on related Medicare topics.
In 2011, Bay was sent to Washington D.C. by the National Patient Advocate Foundation to lobby for a permanent fix to the Medicare reimbursement problem for health care providers. Bay is also an instructor at Casper College teaching “New to Medicare” and Medicare Part D prescription drug courses through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) program. In December 2014, Bay was a presenter at a national patient advocacy conference with Decision Health entitled “Let’s Get Real About Patient Centered Care.”
Bay grew up in Southern California and moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1980 to be closer to her family. There she met Dennis Bay, her husband of 31 years, and together they raised one son, Jason. She enjoys traveling – especially to Costa Rica and to Wellington, Colorado to see her granddaughter—gardening, walking and bicycling, the outdoors, and spending time with her family.
